Casa del Sol

Casa del Sol is a holiday home on the Costa de la Luz, inspired by Andalusian architecture, more specifically cortijo's (Spanish courtyard houses) as well as Moorish architecture. This simple house is conceived as a series of courtyards featuring a more ornate central volume dividing the inner arcaded courtyard in two. The detailing is simple and known; also exploring the versitality of basic Spanish clay tile.

Some of the materials for the house will be reclaimed, such as the rooftiles, as well as some of the timber being used throughout the property. Renewables will be implemented and luckily the site enjoys a lot of shade from the pine trees in the summer.
